DNS, or the Domain Name System, is a fundamental part of the Internet. It allows humans to use easily remembered domain names instead of difficult-to-remember IP addresses. When you type a domain name into your web browser, DNS is what translates that name into the correct IP address.
DNS also plays a vital role in email delivery. Every time you send or receive an email, DNS looks up the MX record for the recipient’s domain. This MX record tells your email server where to deliver the message.
